Of Greater Descent was founded with the idea of creating a small raiding community for experienced raiders who don't have the interest or time to be part of a hardcore raiding guild but who do have the skill, maturity and commitment to be part of a serious yet casual raiding guild.
If a mature, experienced, commited, fun, family-tight raiding guild is what you are seeking, we might be what you've been looking for! Feel free to whisper any of our members in game for more information and check our recruitment board!

Once more, the scenery has changed... The enemy has a new face, the brotherhood's members might have changed slightly, their equipment improved... and Lae is grumpier than ever! But underneath it all, nothing has really changed : we still stand by the same values and goals, the bonds that hold us together as stronger than ever... dyna still has the same dps...
And more than anything, we still kick ass! Great job last night and over the last few weeks folks, always an honor to be part of this group.

The neighborhood has changed...
The weather has dropped...
The enemy has taken a new face...
Yet, the house of Of Greater Descent looks better than ever!
Nearly 5 months after deciding to call quits on 25 man raiding, the raiders of Of Greater Descent gathered their dusty armors and weapons and headed towards the reborn city of Naxxramas. A little rusty but surely refreshed, they battled the horrors Kel'Thuzad sent their way, quickly progressing towards the Lich King's second in command. Within a couple weeks, they were back in their element (well... Lae's still behind a bit but alas) and a sense of unity could be felt within the walls of their home. Their time had come.
Each week that passed saw a new trophy being added by the entrance... Kel'Thuzad, Sartharion, Malygos... Neither dragons nor undeads could stop their efforts. Less than a month after the new year kicked off, the continent of Northrend was cleared of its invaders... for now! As they wait for their next oppponent, the raiders of Of Greater Descent are now weekly toying with the defeated beasts of the Lich King... spicing things up so to speak!
In short, things have rarely looked so bright! The family that Of Greater Descent forms is tighter than ever (we added gnomes), it's raining loot (we had to condemn a room to hold Kirk's gear) and none stands in our way! What else could we hope for! A tank maybe.... Any applicant? ;-)

Just 4 days after saving the human village in which Lady Proudmore had established her encampment, the raiders of OGD were back and ready for more! Heading to the horde village this time around, they were greeted by Thrall (yes Tralllll) who brought them up to speed on the current situation. The foul Kaz'rogal was assieging the city and was soon to walk in the village.
The raiders got ready for the waves of enemies that would soon try to take over the small horde village. Although overwhelmed at first, they quickly got the hang of it and soon overcame the enemies, wave by wave. As the last one fell to the ground, they felt the ground shaking... Their enemy was approaching, their surroundings shaking each time Kaz'rogal took a step. Nevertheless, they stood by Thrall and awaited, a little shaky but excited to meet their next victim.
As he entered the village, Kaz'rogal quickly met his match in our little korean tank; she just wouldn't go down (rofl). Still, knowing she had shaved, he went on trying as our raiders slowly sliced and casted away at his demonic body. Slowly, they saw Kaz'rogal's health vanish at their attacks and his own attacks taking away at their ranks.... As their friends started exploding, they turned to Thrall and his troops in help. Awaiting his revenge, he took on the offer and ordered his troops to take away the last shred of life left in Kaz'rogal. As Thrall took one last swing, he noticed our dear tank was lying on the ground... finally, she had gone down!
Grats to all, what a nice way to end the week! One shot for another first kill! 2 more to go in the battle for Mount Hyjal!!

8h15, the scene was set.
Three weeks after our first visit in Hyjal, the raiders of OGD were back in the besieged human village where Lady Proudmore had settled. Rested and well prepared, they were ready to bring death and decay to their demonic assaulters! But I guess at first, they needed some target practice and so, Winter settled itself in the village... Quickly finding back their pace, the raiders of OGD made but one bite of this so called demon, who surely felt a little chill in his spine when he melted to the ground! Keeping their cool in this small achievement, the raiders focused their mind on their next target, Anetheron.
Made stronger by their experience with this sleep machine, the group placed themselves and got ready to face the waves of doomed demons thrown at them by Anetheron. As each wave crashed back into the darkness, Anetheron surely felt his confidence fading away, seeing his army being reduced to dust... But still, he presented himself and for a while, fought back with fury, even escaping once at the brink of death, having accomplished his goal in the death of Lady Proudmore. Unhappy with such a... unconvincing first kill, the raiders refocused for one last attempt, knowing one of its members was still recovering from his trip to the Carribean... continent! But I digress...
In this final attempt, no mistakes were done. The infernals met their doom, as they each crashed on the ground, quickly handled by the destructive spells of our warlocks... and Anetheron quickly saw that there would be no tomorrow for his incessant attacks on the human village. As he tried unsuccessfully to kill our korean chick, the spells and swords of our raiders were slowly but surely digging into Anetheron's soul. A few minutes later, his doom was sealed as his armor fell to the ground, sadly squishing a blueberry lying on the ground... It had been done!
Great job all! What a fun and uplifting evening that was :-D Grats to the winners and thanks to Endofzworld and Optic for joining us in there!

After a couple weeks of "forced rest", needless to say the raiders of OGD were hungry for more... Starting the evening with a practice kill on Magtheridon, the raid then headed to the ancient world of Azeroth, in the depths of the Caverns of Time. Joining the battle for Mount Hyjal for the first time, they were ready for battle!
More than eager to face a new instance and a new kind of encounter, they set up their forces within the human village, awaiting the demonic forces of their first target, Rage Winterchill. Slicing, casting, tanking, healing, laughing at Reamer dying, they pulled through the 8 waves of enemies and stood silent, ready to meet their new nightmare. But, with Jaina's help, we quickly became aware that this would be a very short dream... and that winter had been over for a while!
Regathering after a first learning attempt, the raiders destroyed the 8 waves once more and w/o much of a problem, made sure that the weather would remain warm and sunny in the happy ever after human village!!! Awww what a lovely story!
Grats to all who were present! T'was a fine first time in Hyjal Summit!
