To all new applicants,

  Before you apply to this guild, here is a little history you might be interested in as well as a few facts to consider as you submit your application.

  Of Greater Descent is a guild that was founded in July '07 by a few ex-members of The Order of Azeroth. We set out to build a smaller casual raiding guild where we hoped simplicity would be the driving idea. Although casual in its workings, we also hoped that in time, the foundations of the guild would provide us with a tight knit group ready to face the hardest challenges offered in Outlands. A few months later, it seems our efforts had paid off as OGD successfully went through many encounters in SSC, TK and Hyjal.

  Nearly a year to the day after OGD was created, many of its members felt a certain need to cut back on their game time and the members decided as a whole to drop the 25 man raiding world altogether and to enjoy a more casual and laid back environment for the few months left before the new expansion kicks in. A few months after this decision was taken, some have left our ranks to go on with the 25 man encounters, some have cut back their game time and focused on other things for the time being, and some have simply turned to alts, pvp, and the smaller 10 man raids. Furthermore, with the future expansion bringing in many new 10 man raids, a smaller version of OGD is seemingly taking shape for this brand new reality!

  Before you fill in and submit your application, please understand that we, as a guild, decided that in order to keep things the way they are, we would have to keep the amount of members of OGD to a minimal. In other words, we aim to have within the guild 25 raiders and very few non raiders. It is not, and was not, an easy decision for anyone in this guild or applying to this guild to accept the fact we seldom take in non raiding members but it is something we feel is a necessity to ensure the stability of our raiding group with the simple rules and guidelines we have governing it.

  In other words, if you are interested in applying to OGD, please consider that we rarely accept non raiding members and that any raiding applicant, may they be wives, husbands, friends, etc, will have to go through the same process in order to be accepted as a member. Exceptions are done for non-raiding better halves which can be invited as honorary members. Any other exception must be voted by the council prior to guild invite and honorary status.
